How much is a session and what is included?
My base session package is $425 and includes all edited digital images. Sessions usually run between 45-60 minutes, depending on where we are and the number of outfit changes (and if kids are involved). You can read more about my family sessions here.

Do you shoot weddings at all?
I shoot a limited number of weddings annually and am always interested in hearing from couples who think we might be a good fit! You can find my wedding and engagement session info can here.

What do you mean by "all edited digital images?"  How do I get my images once they're ready? I mean just that...I hate having to ask people to choose a certain number of images to purchase, because I go through and edit all images that speak to me and that I think you'll love, too. I'll usually end up delivering 30-50 fully edited images to you. When they're ready (usually within two weeks), you will receive a download link via my gallery site, www.katiekphotography.pixieset.com. My awesome wedding clients get to view their photos via Pixieset (usually within four weeks), and will also receive a custom engraved USB with all of the images from their wedding day.

What kind of gear do you use? I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III. My 35mm f/1.4 is almost always attached to my primary camera body. Sometimes I’ll switch it with the 50mm f/1.2, but most of the time I’m shooting with the 35. My go-to's for weddings are the 35mm and either an 85mm or a 135mm, depending on the space.

What if it rains on the day of our session?! Being in Seattle, the rain is a constant factor.  My general rule of thumb is to touch base a day or two before the session to see what the forecast says. If there is a potential for rain, we'll be in touch on the day of to see how the other is feeling. Unless it is pouring outside, I tend to err on the side of having the session because you just never know if we'll catch a break.

If for some reason we do have to cancel or cut the session short because of weather, I'll work with you to reschedule to the next available date.

When is your favorite time to shoot? If it's sunny outside I love the golden hour - around 1.5 hours before sunset. Of course, half of the year we don't see the sunsets because it is too cloudy. Truthfully, I do love a good overcast session. If we have overcast skies I'll usually suggest a morning shoot (10ish) or early afternoon, just so we get enough light.

can you make me look 10 years younger? My goal when editing images is keep them authentic and true to the story being told. In other words, I don't make anyone skinny or tan or perfectly airbrushed. Usually, I will touch up blemishes that are obviously temporary (hey, we all get acne...it's no fun).  I'll also clean up the area around the eyes and smooth skin, if need be. Don't worry, you will still look like yourself.

I have a Pinterest board full of photos I'd like for our session! Can I share them with you? Totally!  It's always nice to see what images people are drawn to and it helps me structure the session. Just know that your session will be unique to you. While we can certainly try out different poses, I want us to have an experience that is tailored to you - not try and recreate someone else's (because that's no fun).
